At the beginning there was the will…
...to do something against (technological) underdevelopment - to make a small contribution in order to give people in the south better education and work chances. Then we got the idea to collect computer equipments in our through-computerized "first" world and send them to Africa.
In December 1998, a group of the new founded "association for the support of people" (VUM) travelled to Togo with extensive technical equipment. In Lomé, the capital of Togo, in a four weeks and three-shifts a day lasting training seminar altogether 27 persons were trained so well, that they can make now first trainings at school.
The sponsored computers, which were rigged in Austria by numerous honorary working members of the association, remained in Togo and are available in a publicly accessible training centre.
