Beside an Internet cafe working independent of further external assistance, the know-how should be passed by the direct project partners to other people in Cameroon.
First intermediate objective (January 2001):
The establishment of an e-mail post office. An account for receiving and sending - the Subject of the e-mail is the receiver's name.
A team of post officers distributes the messages in a printed form to the people, which go by for fetching them.
For sending the messages 2-3 computers with a mail-client are available.
The messages are collected at the central computer and dispatched 1-3 times a day.
To reach this we want:
1.) to transport 5 computers as well as 1-2 printers to Cameroon. As well the necessary software and the manuals. Not to forget the materials for electrical installations.
2.) 1 to 2 coaches and technician from VUM in Dec. 2000/ Jan. 2001 for approx. 2 to 4 weeks in Cameroon to install and train the people.
Since 27 December 2000 we are in Bamenda!
