The Congo:Project also named Cooperation Congo-Autriche because it is to become a genuine cooperation on different levels.
Together with VUM we wanted to establish a “Computer-College” (Centre d'Informatique et Formation), which trains on the one hand further trainers and on the other hand is to represent a communication-platform in Kinshasa.
To guarantee the support of the Computer-College, we had the idea of training trainers 1 month - 3 weeks the complete basic training (hardware, dos, windows, office, internet, mail), and the last week specializing in a branch they want to develop.
The training is free of charge , there are only to share the operating expenses (rent, electricity, Internet) by the “pupils”.
Every person who has been trained has the duty to work 3 months as a trainer free of charge, the first one as "assistant" supporting the trainer, to get experience in training.
The aim is to get a continuous system of TTT (Train The Trainer) in the Computer-Centre, that many people can get a low cost Computer-Training.
We have also been thinking of a free Computer-Training by separating the location (there are 4 rooms) in a Training-Area and an Internet-Café to cover the operating expenses.
The Computer-College is as well a address for contacts of cooperation on different levels:
- Computer Trainings
- Social Supporting Work
- Abroad Practice in Universities
- Projects in Universities and Schools
- Cultural Exchange
Up to now this all is theory - the praxis will show how good it will work into realization. Until this moment everything goes well, but exotic problems always exist, like current-interruption and so on.
